Hey riders, It's almost time for the 2009 Retro Ride and Picnic, so start polishing the old beauties. This year we're planning it for Sunday, October 4th., at noon. We're thinking about holding it at Flag Pole Hill, near White Rock Lake. This will give us more room, and we can reserve it in...

Does anybody in the DFW area have a site that lists all the tours/rides around the area for the summer?
I've noticed probably 12 or so riders on the street this past week, and have no idea if they'd be on here. I might of talked to someone on here in person, and had no clue. Not everyone wears their TXBF jersey every day. :p Location: DFW Ride (upated again 9.8.07 :) ):...
So who all is headed up there? I'm planning on the 100k.
I live in Irving and there is just about 0 bicycle activity. Sure there are groups on newer bikes, But are there other guys that ride older bikes that just want a good 20-40 mile cruise? It would be cool to have a vintage ride with 70s and 80s road bikes.
Bike Friendly Richardson is hosting a casual Black Friday Ride to kick-off the new site on Nov. 27. Come on out and show your support and have some fun. And who knows this might just save you from being trampled at some department store.
Who all has joined the fixed-gear fanaticism? Post a pic of your fixie. Anyone up for creating a fixed group ride? I'm thinking downtown maybe Mon. or Wed. nights. Ideas?
I went out to Richmond to ride with a friend this morning. We rode through some nice country roads headed to Fulshear. I was amazed with the shear numbers of rodies out in that part of Houston. There were country roads with picturesque landscape. We ended riding 30 miles, but the experience was...
Hi everyone! Long time lurker, first time poster! Thanks to a many things going well career-wise, there is a good possibility that I'll be moving from Gainesville, FL to Houston. As a biker it's painful because Gainesville is without-a-doubt awesome for road cyclists but... career comes first. ...
So it looks like the Wounded Warrior Project have made their tentative schedule for SoldierRide 2010. The Lone Star State schedule is San Antonio – Austin – Dallas, TX, March, 17-21, 2010. Wow, we get to ride with a tailwind!!! Outstanding! The start is in San Antone on Wednesday, so that gives to...
The Trinity River Trail is closed at University Drive in Fort Worth. If you are following the trail and want to avoid the traffic on University, here is a handy detour. This detour goes around the closed section with a minimum of exposure to heavy car traffic. If heading toward downtown, exit...

i live in houston, but would be willing to travel as far as austin to find a good LBS that has some used bikes for sale. i've been lurking on CL for months and see maybe 1 bike per month that's worth an email, but haven't found the right size/price yet. my target price range is 400-500 and i'm...
I need someone for the Athena/women’s perspective on event training; I’m looking for someone who is not bashful or camera shy, wants to “compete” basically see what you can do (Triathlons, Cycling events, Runs, etc) Has 30+ lbs to lose, has time to work-out 3-4 times a week and wants to try to take...
whats up with this? http://bikeportland.org/2009/10/10/tragedy-and-outrage-in-texas/
Any body else get a chance to run today? It was a little cold at 6:30am, but by 8:30 the weather was awsome. I started a simple ride down the bayou and ended up riding 75 miles around town.
I've been checking out the bike shops in the north austin area but seems a lot of them are overpriced. Any suggestions on somewhere I should check out? Looking for a road bike if that changes anything.
This ride was Roy's Dream. He planned it for months in advance. It all worked out just great. Three riders with Chuck as SAG in Dave's car to haul the gear. 1394 car miles, 754 bike miles, 500 photos, 7 days travel. Temps 60* to 98* no rain, no winds to amount to anything. Perfect Weather. ...
My first mixte will be finished sooner than later and I know a few of you own one too. How many of us are there in North Texas? It would be cool to have a mixte meet and ride around white rock or something like that. Of course anyone would be welcome to ride whatever they own but an emphasis on...
I decided to start a new thread about this. A know several BF's use Braes Bayou and THP/GB park. What are the chances we can get a group together for a ride and meet face to face? If interested please indicate park preference and day/time. AG
Mash Master: "Maybe we need a BF houston to Austin ride" ---------- aaronechang replied: "That's a terrific idea. I would definitely be up for it." ---------- yeamac: "+2
