To make a long story short, we made too many size XL in some key styles this year, and we need to sell them at 50% off so the inventory gets back into alignment with the rest of the sizes. We've got short sleeve Merino jerseys, Merino shirts, Lycra jerseys, etc.

So here's the deal....if you ping me at tim@swobo.com , I'll send you a code that you can use on our site to get the 50% off.

I thought this board might appreciate such an offer, so I hope you guys enjoy.

So recently has been weird riding schedule for me due to the Horrible hundred. I have been doing a lot of bridge attacks due to it being flatter than flat here in Jacksonville. So a bridge attack for me is about 8-10 laps (16-20 climbs) on the bridges. I did that 3 times last week and did a standard flat 24 mile ride early Thursday am. I didn't ride again until Sunday due to the horrible Hundred. In the ride i felt great 100+%. I then didn't ride Monday or Tuesday for various reasons nothing to do with recovery etc just life in general. So Wednesday i did a lunch ride with the guys and we were averaging 24 MPH on our 12 mile loop and i could have gone harder and held 26-28 for a good clip. So we rode again Thursday and again i felt good but not super strong (avg. 21 mph)as the day before with plenty of rest. And today again we rode the same loop. And still felt weaker (20.5 avg) than Wednesday and the Horrible Hundred. Is it bad to do rides 3 days back to back like that and not feel 100% or is it better to get to the 100% and then wear it out? Is there a benefit or fault either way?
I've recently switched my eating habits. Now during the day, I have a Slim Fast shake for breakfast and lunch and some fruit in between for a snack. For dinner, I just have a regular meal (try to eat less!). But now I'm noticing that my energy level when I bike to work is less, the ride seems harder and I feel more tired during the ride. I've been riding the same route for about 3 months, but I just noticed the change in energy level. And the ride home is even worse!

I'm guessing that it's just my body changing what in uses for energy since I've lowered my caloric intake. So how long will this last?
I do drink Gatorade on the way to work and on the way home. Anything else I should be doing?

Thanks

I want to get a bike that I can ride any variety of trails or events around here, so I'm looking at full suspension bikes and my price limit is $2k.

I'm at 240 lbs, about 6'3", and would go on 1-4 hour rides either on local trails or something like Nate Harrison Rd on Palomar mountain.

Here's one on bikes direct.
http://www.bikesdirect.com/products/...ntom_teamX.htm
Here's one from Performance, a GT Marathon.

I had the last week off from work. Rotating shift work, every 5 weeks is a built in 7 off, but I normally get called in for a couple of days.
I have been planning to ride across the state since spring ~300 miles. But every time I had days off something came up. This time I had it planned and had the days
to do it. I had it planned for 4 days and 60-80 miles/day with 2 extra days if needed.
I started in Ft. Smith,AR at 5am, I planned 86 miles to Russellville where I live the first day. I have completed multiple centuries this year and have put over
2000 miles so far on the bike. For some reason the last 30 miles killed me. I don't know if it was the cold, over dressed, wrong water setup, wrong diet, or what.
But I was done after the first day and was on the couch the next 2 days. I wasn't sore but just felt like crap. So bad I was ready to sell the bike and quit forever.
Its been a week now and I feel 100% again, still haven't been on the bike but I will probablycommute in the next three nights. It just sucks because I have been
wanting to do this for the last 1.5 years. I may have a short time to do it this spring.

Anyone else just completly bonked on a ride that should have been easy for you?

So, add me to the list of people that have converted their flat bar hybrid to a drop bar.

I had considered simply selling this bike and buying a drop bar bike, but my wife made noises accompanied with phrases like "but you JUST got that bike" and "It was a Father's day present"....so a conversion was in order.

I've got a Easton drop bar with brifters and cyclocross-style brakes from a chap in Toronto (via Craigslist, and he threw in a Sora front derailleur as well), and I placed an order a couple days ago for travel agents, new cables, wrap, and a cable cutter.

As well, I've purchases a wireless computer with heart rate sensor. Well, actually, it was free with credit card reward points (RBC Rewards, for any Canadians out there with a RBC Visa).

The installation seems relatively straightforwards, my only issue may be dialing in the fit with the new bars.

(sorry for any grammar or spelling error I wrote this quick)
OK here is the back story of what is going on.In 2008 I got super cereal(southpark joke) about cycling, I joined a MTB team, I started thinking more about what I was eating, but still didn't change what I ate to much, I just tried to eat more fruit and vegs.I started training for this in the winter of 2007. I did some lifting and cardo until I could ride again outside.I dropped weight during the winter and got down to 225. I started at 235.So ten pounds before the season even started. Great right!

Well the season started I was riding min 100 miles a week, each day was little different type of ride. By the mid march I was up to 150 miles. I was doing one to two ride a week over 25 miles at a steady pace and keep my heart at about 70 to 75% of my max.(Max for me is 219)I had one day of hard hill repeats, and the rest where a mix of different trails(I have 4 different MTB trails I can ride to from my place)

In April the race season started, I had 4 races in April planed and I did them all.(Yankee Springs TT, [usac races]Pontiac Lake TT, Bloomer XC, and I had a 6 hour solo endurance race. I did very well I got 7th, 2nd, 1st,3rd.)I did 3 more races after this before I broke my back freeriding( I had to take it easy on the racing got a little burnt out.lol) Before I broke my back I was hitting 200 miles a week with no problem and was feeling great. During this whole time I was never counting Calories, I just tried to each more vegetables and fruits.I ate when I was hunger and I ate to get myself ready for races. I didn't feel like I was losing much weight during all this time. Everything thing pretty much fit the same, maybe a little looser in the pants but not much.Went from 40 to 38 in pants. When I was finally able to stand up and move around 2 weeks after my free riding crash I was 210 lbs. Once I started PT I was slowly gain everything back that I lost. ended 2008 at 235lbs.

At the start of this year I made it a point to eat even better to help out in the 2009 races season so i can get even better and lose even more weight. I cut my carbs down to maybe about a 1/3 of what I use to eat. I ate smaller portions of meat.(I already eat a ton of chicken) I stop eating fast food, thing with breading on them, things that are fried you name it. My snack where apples and Carrots. I ate two serving of vegs at lunch and dinner. I was feeling much healthier but I wasnt losing any weight. My riding load was the same has how I ended the 2008 season. I uped the my work outs in the gym during the winter has well.

At this point I bought a scale so I can watch my weight more closely for this season. It was April again and time to start racing again. I did one race and about a week later I became very sick. For a month I backed off from riding and working out to try and get healthy again(no health ins at this time now).I controlled my cal so I wouldn't add weight to me. I was eating 2000 a day. Which is about 1500 to 2000 less then what I would eat when I ride. I finally had to go into the hospital to get check out. I couldn't use my hands towards the end of the day at work one day so that sent to the ER right away. They are pretty sure I got mono, but couldn't figure out how I got. So now I am told to get has much rest has possible for at least the next 6 months. So no riding for me. The doc even said no sex.My Spline was so enlarged he was really worried. I had three ultra sounds done during that time the spline didn't get smaller until about the 5 month mark. During all this my daily cal count was keep in the 1500 and 2000 count. I was gaining weight during this time and could figure it out. I tried to cut my cal count down to 1500 during all this, most days I did but 3 out of the 7 days I ate 2000. I ate even more veg and fruit and even less and less carbs. My meat was basically the same. But I couldn't control my weight I was gaining.

Now that I am able to ride again, I do about 3 times a week and or workout 2 times a week. The weight isn't coming off at all. I am now right around the 240 mark. I am eating 1500 cal most days(5 out of 7 days),but never over 2500.

My question is could something have happen to me? And what is causing me to not lose weight anymore.I am holding steady now so that is good.I am looking for ideas of what could causes this to happen.

I never tour without Paddington on my rack trunk, watching my back.
